District 322F had come into existence in 1979 comprising of the states of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim and Revenue Districts of Malda, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar in West Bengal, India and the Country of Bhutan. It was geographically one of the largest districts of Lions Clubs International.

Almost after 20 years of formation, number of Lions Clubs in the District became around 100 and it was felt, by the members to have smaller districts for better administration. Dist. 322F : The States of Sikkim, Revenue District of Malda, Dakshin Dinajpur,Uttar Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Cooch behar in the State of  West Bengal (India) and the country of Bhutan. The proposal was approved by Board of Directors of the International Association of Lions Clubs & District 322F came into effect from 1 -7-2000.
